Biography
Gareth grew up in Wales where he spent his youth re-enacting scenes from his favourite films whilst singing the themes that accompanied them. Little did he know that these films and his intricate knowledge of the orchestration that brought them to life would shape the person he would become. At the early age of six he began studying classical and jazz piano. In his teens he picked up saxophone, guitar, drums and studied music theory whilst spending the rest of his free time acting in various theatre companies around Wales.

Gareth studied at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and since graduating in 2007 has worked all around the world as a composer and musical director. He has toured with critically acclaimed NoFit State Circus, as well as various other theatre and dance companies including National Theatre of Wales.

Whilst travelling around the world, Gareth picked up as many musical instruments as he could carry until his legs gave in and he found himself in Australia. There he collaborated with companies such as The Tasmanian Theatre Company, Loud Mouth Theatre, the Museum of Old and New Art, Citizen Tasmania and The Circus Studio. Over the last couple of years Gareth has been transferring his creativity from stage to screen.

Method
Having worked with many different directors from all walks of life, Gareth approaches the creative process in a similar manner to professional acting. He begins by gathering a clear understanding of the director's concept, story and character arcs. Once on the same page as the director, he dives as deep as possible into the world they are creating together, only coming back up for air once he has found what they are looking for. Gareth loves to fully immerse himself in the collaboration process, relishing in the detailed journey that is taken to bring a story to life.
